This is a little bit of a tease, but I have an idea for a project coming up that scratches all of my itches that don’t involve riding motorcycles or making awful “music”.
The project will include the following components:
- Rasbperry PI Based
- Python-based code
- Uses Computer Vision/Machine Learning (likely Pytorch or Tensorflow-based)
- Hardware fabrication
- Will actually be useful, if not a little creepy.
The best part of it is that all of these things will be pretty basic and make for excellent tutorials. It will probably look a little daunting to some at first, but I promise that it will be accessible to anyone with just a little bit of programming and/or electronics experience.
It does require some fabrication skills, but I will publish files and links to services so that those who are only interested in the software aspect of things will be able to farm out the fabrication cheaply. I just might give away some pre-built components too if I get enough interest.
I expect that the total cost (not including 3D-Printer, soldering station and computer) to be somewhere around $200 on the high end, but I’m going to try to keep that number as low as possible. Note: this is the material cost of the project, I’m not selling anything here.
This will be a multi-part series that I will post pieces of a couple of times a week. It will be multi-media in that there will be long form tutorials here that will go with video tutorials over on YouTube.
